Job Description – Veterinary Assistant/Technician

Spring Farm CARES has an on-site small veterinary clinic. The primary purpose of this clinic is to serve the needs of our resident cat population (about 150 cats) and surrounding feral cat colonies. The clinic consists of a treatment/lab area, surgery room, and dental room. Surgeries would consist of primarily spay/neuter.

Job Duties and required skills would include the following:

• Cat handling and phlebotomy skills – required
• Anesthesia experience (induction, monitoring, recovery) – required
• HVHQSN OR TNR clinic experience – preferred
• Dental experience – preferred
• Laboratory knowledge (fecals, blood smears, urinalysis, etc) – required
• Basic knowledge of IDEXX machines and maintenance – preferred
• Light cleaning and inventory management expected
• Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and supervisors a must Job position:

Part-time Pay range: $18-$22 per hour
