Volunteer at Spring Farm CARES

Thank you for your interest in volunteering here with us at Spring Farm CARES!

Volunteer tasks depend on availability and can range from enrichment, cleaning, assisting with events or other special projects at the sanctuary.

We are able to accept new volunteers based on our current availability of open spots. If you would like to be added to the waitlist, please fill out our Contact Form using the button below and let us know that you’re interested in volunteering. Our volunteer coordinator will contact you with more information.

Please note: Volunteers 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult and are only permitted to work with the cats (not in the barn). Volunteers ages 16-18 must have a parent or guardian accompany them to their orientation, but may come volunteer without a parent/guardian after that.

Does Your Group/Organization Want To Volunteer?

Please note: SFC can accommodate group volunteers on a one-off basis only. Volunteers who wish to come in regularly need to be scheduled individually. If you have any questions, please email our Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected]

Group volunteers are welcome provided they can meet the following parameters:

No more than 6 volunteers at one time due to space constraints. Larger groups should be split up and scheduled separately.
NOTE: Groups can be larger if a group has selected an off-site volunteer activity [seen below] and is only coming on-site to drop off donations and take a tour.
All groups must have a designated group representative (this is who should fill out the application, and who will be the point of contact between the group and SFC).
Groups must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
Groups with children under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
All children under 18 must have signed permission from a parent.
All members of the group must sign a volunteer agreement.

Your group will have two different options for your volunteering:

On-site: Volunteering at the sanctuary doing tasks such as deep cleaning, seasonal projects, yard cleanup, cat enrichment, etc.
Off-site: Doing a service project outside of the sanctuary, then bringing the group in to drop off any donations, take a tour and spend some time socializing with the cats.

Project Ideas

*** Please approve any toys/food items with the Volunteer Coordinator before making them

Enrichment crafts (i.e. making little catnip sacks with socks)
Host a fundraiser for the sanctuary
Host a fundraiser for a specific animal with special needs or a specific cause
Sponsor an animal; each member of the group picks their own animal to raise money for (you could even give a prize to whoever raises the most!)
Host a drive for items on our wishlist
Have each person pick one of our animals to draw and/or write a little story/poem about; we can use this for social media and/or decoration
Come up with your own service project!
